A dry herb vaporizer is the perfect alternative to smoking a joint. Not only is it healthier but it can also be more convenient just to pop some herbs in your vape rather than taking the time to roll a perfectly constructed joint.
Despite being relatively nice and easy to use there are a few tips and tricks to help you get the most out of vaping.
We have spent pretty much every day for the past couple of years testing various vaporizers and we’d like to think we know what we’re doing so we thought we’d share some tips on how to get the most out of your brand new shiny vaporizer!
Ensure you herbs are finely grounded
This one is number one for a reason! The finer you grind your herb the more surface is available to be exposed to the heat inside the oven. This ensures that the heat will be evenly distributed and you’ll release far more terpenes and cannabinoids.
Fill your oven but not too tight!
Once you have finely ground herbs, it is time to fill the oven. The good news is the more herb you place in your vaporizer the more you’ll feel the effects. However, it is important that you do not pack your over too tight. If you overfill the oven you will restrict the airflow and prevent air passing through the chamber and into your mouth.
Use the right temperature
Of all tips this one is the most subjective. Each member of the dank! Vapes team prefers to vape their cannabis at different temperatures.
In short, the higher the temperature, the stronger the high will be but the trade off is you lose some of the flavour.
Vaping at a low temperature means the effects will be more steady but you’ll get a more consistent flavour and be able to taste the delicate nuances of each strain..
Personally, I like to start on a low temperature maybe around 170°C and then turn it up 10°C every 20 mins or so - I find I get the most out of my herbs this way and means I get both the flavour as well as the high.
We wrote a whole post on the effects of different temperatures - you can read it here.
Keep your vape clean!
This probably seems really obvious but I have seen some dirty vapes in my time (looking at you Cara!) !
After a vaping session the last thing you will want to do is clean your vape but like doing the dishes it really is just best to get it out of the way! Once the vaporizer has fully cooled, the residue will congeal and harden turning cleaning your vaporizer into a chore.
If left dirty, the residue left over from vaping can block your air path meaning less clouds. Just remember, a clean vape is a long lasting vape!
